A Favorite of Turkish Breakfasts: Legendary Toast Recipe

A must-have for any Turkish breakfast, sucuklu toast is a feast for the taste buds. This recipe gives the classic version a fresh twist, taking it to the next level. It’s a dish that’s sure to become a favorite not just for my brother, but for everyone who tries it! Here’s an easy-to-make toast recipe that’s crispy on the outside and packed with flavor on the inside.

Ingredients:

2 slices of bread

Sucuk (Turkish sausage)

Tomato (beefsteak tomato is best)

Kaşar cheese (or mozzarella)

Tomato paste

Butter

Olive oil

Red chili flakes

Salt

Mixed greens

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Bread: Spread a generous amount of tomato paste on one side of a slice of bread. This adds an extra layer of flavor to the toast.
  2. Arrange the Sucuk and Cheese: Place the bread slice with the tomato paste on the toaster machine. Arrange the sucuk slices on top. As the sucuk cooks, add plenty of kaşar cheese and thinly sliced tomatoes.
  3. Toasting: When the sucuk is cooked and the cheese has melted, place the other slice of bread on top. Close the toaster and press down until both sides are golden brown and crispy.
  4. Serving: Take the toast off the toaster and place it on a serving plate. While it’s still hot, drizzle some butter over it. Cut the toast in half, open it up, and add fresh mixed greens inside. If you like, you can lightly toss the greens with a little olive oil, salt, and red chili flakes on the side before serving.

With this recipe, you’ll forget all other sucuklu toasts you’ve ever had. Enjoy!
