Tzatziki Recipe

Tzatziki is one of the favourite appetisers of Greek cuisine. Yoghurt, cucumber, garlic and made with olive oil, this appetiser is a refreshing and tasty snack or appetiser option.

Ingredients:

– 500 g strained yoghurt
– 1 cucumber (grated)
– 2 cloves of garlic (grated)
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– Juice of 1 lemon
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– 1/4 bunch fresh dill (finely chopped) (optional)

Preparation:

1. Grate the cucumber and drain it in a colander.
2. Put the yoghurt in a bowl and whisk until smooth.
3. Add the cucumber, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper to the yoghurt. stir.
4. Add the dill and mix again.
5. Chill the tzatziki in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
6. Serve chilled.

Tips and Tricks:

– To make the tzatziki more delicious, grate the cucumber and drain the water. then you can rub it with salt and leave it for 10 minutes. In this way, the excess water of the cucumber to absorb the yoghurt.
– If you like tzatziki with a thicker consistency, you can use yoghurt without straining it.
– You can drizzle olive oil over the tzatziki before serving.
